This is a design competition entry for a new facility to house the Palos Verdes Art Center.

IN.VISION Architecture provided all conceptual, site and architectural design for this entry. The design features a long concrete structure which, with sculptural metal and plaster units attached and projecting, shields the Center from an adjacent electrical power sub-station. Other activities, both for students and guests at public functions, are housed in spaces arrayed around a semi-circular courtyard or plaza, the straight side of which is also the interior face of the concrete structure described above. A linear water feature flows from a smaller courtyard, serving as a student and faculty sculpture garden, down to a fountain at the center of the semi-circular plaza.
